San Diego Padres 9, Chicago Cubs 7

The San Diego Padres outslugged the Chicago Cubs in a high-scoring affair. San Diego’s offense was led by Jurickson Profar, who had three hits including two doubles, scoring three runs, and Jackson Merrill’s four RBIs, including a triple. Manny Machado also chipped in a solo homer. For the Cubs, Pete Crow-Armstrong launched a grand slam, accounting for four RBIs, and Seiya Suzuki added two hits and a home run. The Angels’ offense saw Jo Adell hit a three-run home run, and Nolan Schanuel added two doubles, but it wasn’t enough to hold off the White Sox surge. Angels starter Patrick Sandoval gave up three earned runs over five innings, but the bullpen couldn’t shut the door. Erick Fedde started for the White Sox, allowing four earned runs.

Boston Red Sox 5, Toronto Blue Jays 0

Tanner Houck was absolutely brilliant for the Boston Red Sox, throwing seven shutout innings, allowing just one hit and striking out ten Toronto Blue Jays batters. It was a masterful performance. On offense, Masataka Yoshida connected for a home run and Tyler O’Neill added two hits and a double to help the Red Sox secure the win. The Blue Jays’ offense was completely stifled, managing only two hits all game. Yariel Rodriguez took the loss for Toronto, giving up four earned runs over six innings.

Minnesota Twins 11, Seattle Mariners 4

The Minnesota Twins offense erupted against the Seattle Mariners, powered by Edouard Julien’s two home runs and five RBIs. Carlos Correa and Jose Miranda also had multi-hit games as the Twins racked up 12 hits. Mariners ace Luis Castillo had a day to forget, surrendering seven earned runs on seven hits in just 3.2 innings, taking the loss. Twins starter Chris Paddack had a solid outing, allowing two earned runs over five innings to earn the victory. J.P. Crawford hit a two-run homer for the Mariners, but it was far from enough.

Paul Goldschmidt delivered a two-run double, while Nolan Arenado and Lars Nootbaar each added solo home runs in the decisive frame. For the Pirates, Jared Triolo had a strong day with three hits and a double. Pirates starter Martin Perez was brilliant, pitching four shutout innings, but his bullpen couldn’t protect the lead in the ninth. Cardinals starter Lance Lynn gave up two earned runs over five innings.

Maikel Garcia and Bobby Witt Jr. each drove in a run for the Royals. Tigers starter Tarik Skubal was equally impressive, giving up two earned runs on four hits and striking out eight over six innings, but took the tough loss. Riley Greene hit a two-run home run for the Tigers, providing their only offense.

Houston Astros 10, Colorado Rockies 3

The Houston Astros offense came alive, scoring ten runs against the Colorado Rockies. Kyle Tucker was the star of the show, blasting two home runs and driving in five runs. Jose Altuve chipped in with two hits and two runs scored, and Yordan Alvarez added two RBIs. Astros starter Ronel Blanco was dominant, allowing no earned runs on just two hits over six innings to pick up the victory. Rockies starter Ryan Feltner had a rough outing, giving up five earned runs in just three innings of work. Brendan Rodgers hit a solo home run for Colorado.

Giants ace Logan Webb had an uncharacteristic struggle, giving up seven earned runs on twelve hits in just 3.2 innings. Michael Conforto hit a solo homer for the Giants.

Milwaukee Brewers 8, Cincinnati Reds 2

The Milwaukee Brewers offense, led by Rhys Hoskins’ two home runs and four RBIs, dominated the Cincinnati Reds. Willy Adames also contributed a home run, two hits, and two runs scored, while Blake Perkins added three hits. Brewers starter Freddy Peralta delivered a strong performance, allowing one earned run on three hits over six innings for the win. Reds starter Frankie Montas had a disastrous outing, surrendering seven earned runs on seven hits in just three innings, taking the loss. Spencer Steer hit a two-run homer for the Reds.
