The Jacksonville Jaguars have appointed Grant Udinski as their new offensive coordinator, as announced on Wednesday. At 29, Udinski previously served as the assistant quarterbacks coach and assistant offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings under head coach Kevin O’Connell, joining the team in 2022.
In the 2024 season, the Vikings ranked within the top 12 in total offense and top six in passing yards per game. Quarterback Sam Darnold had a standout year, amassing 4,319 passing yards and 35 touchdowns.
The Jaguars faced challenges in filling the offensive coordinator position. Los Angeles Rams offensive assistant Nathan Scheelhaase chose to remain with his current team despite interest from Jacksonville. Additionally, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, former team of new Jaguars head coach Liam Coen, declined Jacksonville’s requests to interview several offensive coaches. The hiring of Udinski comes shortly after the Jaguars secured a new defensive coordinator from another NFC North team.
