The Cleveland Guardians and the Baltimore Orioles meet Wednesday in MLB action from Camden Yards. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Baltimore Orioles vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Cleveland Guardians will send out Carlos Carrasco for the start here and Carrasco is 3-6 with a 5.40 ERA and 51 strikeouts this season. In his last five starts against the Orioles, Carrasco is 4-1 with a 1.72 ERA and 31 strikeouts. Grayson Rodriguez will get the start for Baltimore here and is 8-3 with a 3.82 ERA and 85 strikeouts this season. This will be Rodriguez’s second career start against the Guardians.

Cleveland Guardians Recap

The Cleveland Guardians will look to complete the sweep of the Orioles after a 10-8 win over Baltimore in game two on Tuesday. The win pushed Cleveland’s win streak to seven games and gives them a chance for a third straight series win after sweeping Toronto last weekend as well as knocking off the Seattle Mariners.

Guardians Rolling Right Now

Jose Ramirez leads the Guardians with 83 hits as well as 21 home runs and 72 RBIs while Josh Naylor also has 20 home runs and 58 RBIs of his own. Ramirez has a team-high 15 doubles while Tyler Freeman has 12 doubles and Andres Gimenez has 37 RBIs with 14 stolen bases while the aforementioned Ramirez has a team-high 15 stolen bases on the year.

Why the Cleveland Guardians will win

  • The Guardians have won each of their last 11 road games against American League opponents that held a winning record.
  • The Orioles have lost each of their last four games as favorites.
  • The Guardians have covered the run line each of their last six road games against teams that held a winning record.
  • The Orioles have failed to cover the run line in each of their last five games.

Baltimore Orioles Recap

The Baltimore Orioles will try to salvage something from this series and avoid the sweep after taking another one on the chin in Tuesday’s loss. The loss puts Baltimore’s losing streak at 5 and puts them at risk of back-to-back series sweeps after not having been swept in two years earlier this season.

Orioles Trying To Find Their Footing

Gunnar Henderson leads the Orioles with 25 home runs, along with 55 RBIs and 4 triples but also has a team-high 83 strikeouts in addition to 13 stolen bases. Adley Rutschman has a team-high 93 hits with 14 home runs and 53 RBIs in addition to 12 doubles while Anthony Santander has 13 doubles with 21 home runs and 53 RBIs and Colton Cowser has 12 doubles and Ryan Mountcastle has a team-high 21 doubles. Cedric Mullins has also contributed a team-high 16 stolen bases as well this season.

Why the Baltimore Orioles will win

  • The Orioles have won nine of their last 11 games against American League opponents following a home loss.
  • The Guardians have lost 21 of their last 27 road games against AL East opponents following a road win.
  • The Guardians have failed to cover the run line in six of their last seven games as underdogs against the Orioles following a road win.
  • The Orioles have covered the run line in five of their last six games as favorites against the Guardians following a home loss.

Baltimore Orioles vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction

I’m on the Orioles here. I know it’s tempting to take the Guardians at this kind of plus price given their current win streak, but Carlos Carrasco has been so hard to stomach backing on the road this season as he has had a tendency to get lit up more often than not. The Orioles are just another team going through a slump right now, but they’re also a far better team than what they’ve shown during this slide and we started to see glimmers of it in Tuesday’s loss. I think the O’s avoid the sweep and tee off on Carrasco here. Give me the Orioles.
