At 34 years old, Adam Thielen is not ready to retire just yet. The veteran wide receiver, after contemplating his future, has decided to return for another season in the NFL. Thielen is finalizing a new contract with the Carolina Panthers for the 2025 season, with ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reporting that the Panthers will also increase his salary, surpassing the $6.75 million he was originally set to earn.

Thielen has enjoyed a distinguished 11-season career, starting with the Minnesota Vikings from 2013 to 2022, where he earned two Pro Bowl selections and one All-Pro honor. In 2023, he joined the Panthers and had a strong debut season, totaling 1,014 receiving yards. Despite a hamstring injury that caused him to miss seven games last year, Thielen still managed 48 catches, 618 yards, and five touchdowns.

A reliable route-runner with the ability to make difficult catches, Thielen continues to be a steady presence in the league. His return is especially significant as 23-year-old quarterback Bryce Young showed growth towards the end of the last season. With additional help from new offensive signings, Thielen will be a key figure in Carolina’s offensive plans for 2025.
