Picks Summary

Golden State Warriors vs. Utah Jazz

Friday, October 25, 2024 – 09:30 PM ET at Delta Center

Our AI Model likes the Warriors to add a 117-115 win over the Jazz tonight. With Golden State currently at -145 on the moneyline, the Warriors have value.

Spotty Defense From Utah

The Utah Jazz lost their first game to the Memphis Grizzlies, 126-124. The defense allowed 121.2 points per 100 possessions and gave up a 57.2% effective field goal percentage.

That won’t help going up against the Warriors. Golden State has an incredibly deep roster, evident in their win over Portland. The Warriors scored 140 points and added 117.5 points per 100 possessions. Spotty defense from Utah won’t cut it.

Golden State Should Win The Turnover Battle

The Utah Jazz made a killing at the free throw line in their first game of the season. However, they also turned the ball over 16.2% of the time.

Meanwhile, Golden State added 17.7% of turnovers in their first game of the season. If the Warriors are more disciplined defensively and add the same number of takeaways and fewer fouls, they’ll have a great game against Utah.

The Pick

Grab the Warriors at -145 and thank the AI Model afterward.

Phoenix Suns vs. Los Angeles Lakers

Friday, October 25, 2024 – 10:00 PM ET at crypto.com Arena

Our AI Model likes the Lakers to add another win tonight. The Lakers are expected to beat the Suns 114-112 as 1.5-point favorites. On Tuesday, the Lakers looked good against the Timberwolves and had an extra day of rest over the Suns. This could be a factor in tonight’s game.

J.J. Reddick Is Coaching Hard!

The Los Angeles Lakers were a mess under Darvin Ham last year. But with J.J. Reddick in control, the Lakers are feeding off his energy and playing much more connected. The defense held Minnesota to a 48.8% effective field goal percentage and allowed only 109.6 points per 100 possessions.

Meanwhile, the Suns scored only 102.7 points per 100 possessions against the Clippers in their first game. The Los Angeles defense can be outstanding tonight.

Phoenix Could Struggle Forcing Turnovers

The Phoenix Suns added 19.5% of turnovers on defense against the Clippers in the season’s first game. But now they’re facing a Lakers team that only turned the ball over 7.4% of the time in their first game.

Without the turnovers, the Suns wouldn’t have defeated the Clippers. They shot very poorly from the field. Basically, with fewer turnovers and mediocre shooting, the Suns don’t have a shot on the road.

The Pick

Let’s ride with the Lakers to pick up another win at -1.5.

NBA Pick: Lakers -1.5 (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Portland Trail Blazers

Friday, October 25, 2024 – 10:00 PM ET at Moda Center

The Blazers are expected to lose against the Pelicans. However, Bet365 has the Blazers at +6 while the AI Model predicts a five-point loss. The Blazers ultimately have the value at home tonight.

Dejounte Murray Is Already Injured

In just one game, the Pelicans lost their newly acquired guard, Dejounte Murray, to a fractured hand. The Pelicans are now without Murray and Trey Murphy.

They’ll have to rely heavily on some of their young players off the bench, which puts much pressure on them. After all, their top two bench players are 22-year-old Jordan Hawkins and 20-year-old Yves Missi. Those two combined for 25 points off the bench.

It’s hard to have super high expectations for this group heading into this game against the Blazers.

Are The Blazers Really This Bad?

The answer is yes. The Blazers are really bad and won’t make a playoff push this year. However, they’re six-point underdogs at home against a Pelicans team already without two important players.

The Pelicans weren’t very aggressive on the offensive glass last week, so they won’t expose how poorly the Blazers were on the defensive glass in their loss to the Warriors. It’s also hard to do worse than their last game against the Warriors, in which they shot only 41.2% from the field.

The Blazers will improve.

The Pick

I’ll take my chances with the Trail Blazers at +6. The AI Model knows where the value is!

NBA Pick: Trail Blazers +6 (-110) at Bet365
