Things are finally starting to look bleak for the Edmonton Oilers and their Stanley Cup prospects after their 5th defeat in a row against the Florida Panthers and their 3rd in a row in this season’s final.

It really is do or die now for the Oilers, as they will need to win 4 games in a row in order to lift the Stanley Cup. We are looking to target two plus-money player props for Game 4 at top-rated sportsbooks.

Picks Summary

  • Matthew Tkachuk Over 0.5 Assists (+135)
  • Zach Hyman Anytime Goalscorer (+125)

Florida Panthers vs. Edmonton Oilers

Saturday, June 15, 2024 – 08:00 PM ET at Rogers Place

Tkachuk’s Stats & Betting Trends

  • Matthew Tkachuk has had the most assists for the Florida Panthers this post-season with 15 in 20 games and ended the regular season as their top playmaker with 62 assists.
  • Tkachuk has only scored an assist once in his previous five NHL games.

Tkachuk to Seal the Deal for Florida

Having started the playoffs in spectacular fashion, racking up 14 assists in 15 games, Matthew Tkachuk has since gone on a cold streak only managing to score an assist in the previous game to mark an end to his four games streak where he didn’t manage to score a single assist.

We are of the persuasion that the Florida forward has broken his cold streak and is likely to get back on the board in this Game 4.

It’s win or go home for the Oilers, so this should make Florida’s chances of scoring even greater. Although the Oilers will try to keep scoring low, they’re not the best defensively and will struggle to break the Panthers down (just like they have done so in the previous five games).

We love the odds on Tkachuk to score an assist here at +135 NHL betting odds.

Considering he has done so in 50% of his playoff games thus far, he should be a minimum of +110 here. When we factor in he is playing on the road and in the Stanley Cup finals, plenty of value to be had.

NHL Pick: Matthew Tkachuk Over 0.5 Assists (+135) at Bet365

Hyman’s Stats & Betting Trends

  • Zach Hyman has been the top goalscorer this post-season having had 14 goals in 20 games, four more goals than the second highest goalscorer.
  • The 2010, 5th-round pick has struggled to find the back of the net in this series with zero goals in the first three games.

Hyman Nothing to Lose

Although we are not big on the Oilers scoring many goals here, we do like Zach Hyman’s chances of getting on the scoreboard at least once in this NHL Stanley Cup Finals. Hyman has failed to score thus far in this series from a total of 7 shots on net.

With this being a win-or-lose scenario, we believe Hyman can get on the scoreboard for one final time in these Stanley Cup playoffs, and we wouldn’t be surprised if he snuck in with two goals here, a bet that is available at +700.

For just a single goal we are getting +125 for Hyman to get on the scoreboard, a fair set of odds, all things considered. We would bet this down to as low as +115, so not much value here but a bet we still like. Since Hyman has only scored twice in his previous eight playoff games, let’s hope tonight is the night he breaks that streak.

NHL Pick: Zach Hyman Anytime Goalscorer (+125) at Bet365
