Dak Prescott on Eagles’ Super Bowl win

Buds Alley Odds

Dak Prescott has a bold perspective on the Eagles’ victory in Super Bowl 59, suggesting that the Dallas Cowboys are closer to competing at their level than most may think.

Despite the Cowboys having to watch their NFC East rivals, the Eagles and Washington Commanders, battle in the NFC Championship, Prescott remains optimistic about Dallas’ chances. When asked by ESPN’s Todd Archer about the Cowboys’ proximity to the Eagles’ dominance, Prescott stated, “I feel like we’ve competed with the Eagles and beaten them for the most part when we’ve played them.”

However, Prescott acknowledged the Eagles’ impressive achievement, admitting, “They’ve earned it, and they deserve it,” while still believing Dallas is “very close” to being on par.

Despite two heavy losses to Philadelphia in 2024 where Prescott was sidelined, he was likely reflecting on previous seasons. But it’s clear there’s a significant gap between regular-season meetings and playoff success. The Eagles have made two Super Bowl appearances in three years and won twice during Prescott’s tenure as Dallas QB since 2016. Meanwhile, Washington reached the NFC Championship this season, but Dallas has only reached the Divisional Round in the same span.

As one might say, a few “close” regular-season games don’t necessarily mean a Super Bowl contender is emerging from the Cowboys just yet.
