However, Cashman claimed that Torres was “unwilling” to make the change, which led to Chisholm being shifted to third base instead. Torres responded on social media, expressing frustration with Cashman’s comments but later deleted his post. Torres, a former All-Star, signed a one-year deal with the Detroit Tigers after struggling in 2024. With Torres gone, the Yankees face uncertainty regarding their infield alignment, with players like Oswaldo Cabrera and Oswald Peraza competing for third base. Cashman remains uncertain about the third base situation but is open to exploring options.
