Arkansas Razorbacks vs. Baylor Bears

Saturday, November 09, 2024 – 07:30 PM ET at American Airlines Center

The AI Model thinks Baylor will add a four-point win over Arkansas tonight. Baylor is currently -3, showing there’s value in the Baylor Bears.

New Life For Arkansas

The Arkansas Razorbacks hired John Calipari as their next head coach. In his first game with the team, he coached Arkansas to a 76-60 win over Lipscomb.

Arkansas was tremendous defensively, holding Lipscomb to an effective field goal percentage of 45.7%. Arkansas forced 25.6% of turnovers and allowed only 14.7% of offensive rebounds. They also barely fouled in that game.

What Went Wrong For Baylor in Game 1?

The Baylor Bears started their season with a 101-63 loss to Gonzaga. The Gonzaga Bulldogs are an elite program, but Baylor was expected to be elite, too.

The Bears allowed a 66.4% effective field goal percentage and 47.1% of offensive rebounds. It’s hard to imagine this continues throughout the season. Baylor has many veteran stars who likely needed that wake-up call. The AI Model believes this group will regroup ahead of their showdown against Arkansas. I do, too.

The Pick

I’d take Baylor at -3 against Arkansas. Baylor is way too talented to give up dud performances in back-to-back games.

Auburn Tigers vs. Houston Cougars

Saturday, November 09, 2024 – 09:30 PM ET at Toyota Center

Our AI Model believes Houston will add a 74-67 win over Auburn at the Mattress Firm Battleground 2k24 at the Toyota Center. Houston is currently just a 5.5-point favorite.

Auburn’s Problems

Auburn won on its way to Houston when multiple players got into a fight that escalated enough that the plane had to take an emergency landing. Auburn had ripped shirts and a player who was bloodied up.

After a 94-43 win over Vermont, it felt like Auburn was finally the team to beat in college basketball. But now, after this, it’s hard to imagine they’ll be ready to go against the Houston Cougars.

Houston’s Defense Is Everything

The Houston Cougars held Jackson State to 40 points in a 97-40 win to start the season. The defense held Jackson State to a 31.9% effective field goal percentage and forced 31% of turnovers.

While Houston’s defense will be terrific, the offense is also very good. Houston shot 60% from deep and 57.4% from inside the arc. The Cougars also made all of their free throws in the win. Ultimately, they didn’t get to the foul line at a high rate, but it was still good to see.

The Pick

I’m betting on Houston after everything that’s transpired over the last 24 hours.

NCAAB Pick: Houston -5.5 (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook

Boise State Broncos vs. San Francisco Dons

Saturday, November 09, 2024 – 10:30 PM ET at The Sobrato Center

The AI Model suggests Boise State will add a four-point win on the road against San Francisco, 76-72. You can find Boise State at -3. That’s solid value for the road team.

Boise State’s Big Start To The Season

The Boise State Broncos added an 87-43 win over Oakland to begin the season. The offense was superb, shooting 45% from three and 57.1% from inside the arc. The squad also turned the ball over just 10.7% of the time and grabbed 40% of offensive rebounds. Boise State could do no wrong.

In addition, the defense held Oakland to an effective field goal percentage of 29.5%, allowing just 11.5% from deep and 37.5% from inside the arc.

San Francisco Wasn’t Nearly As Impressive

San Francisco earned an 86-78 win over Cal Poly. The Dons couldn’t even earn a double-digit victory in that one.

San Francisco shot 25% from downtown and earned only 23.5% of offensive rebounds. That won’t bode well against Boise State, who held Oakland to just 28.3% of offensive rebounds last game

The Pick

Consider Boise State at -3. This team looks legitimate.

NCAAB Pick: Boise State -3 (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook
