The Washington Nationals and the Philadelphia Phillies square off Saturday in MLB action from Citizens Bank Park. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Philadelphia Phillies vs Washington Nationals Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Washington Nationals will send out MacKenzie Gore for the start here and Gore is 7-10 with a 4.50 ERA and 130 strikeouts this season. In his last five starts against the Phillies, Gore is 1-3 with a 7.01 ERA and 23 strikeouts. Washington Nationals Recap

The Washington Nationals come into this one looking to bounce back after starting this series with back-to-back losses following a 3-2 loss in Friday’s matchup. The Nationals can salvage a split at best with a win in the final two games, which would make it back-to-back splits after splitting a two-game series with the Orioles earlier this week.

Nationals Running Out Of Gas

Going into Friday’s matchup, CJ Abrams has 111 hits along with 17 home runs and 59 RBIs to go along with 25 doubles, 6 triples and 22 stolen bases. Luis Garcia Jr. has a team-high 112 hits including 21 doubles with 59 RBIs and 19 stolen bases. Jacob Young has 27 stolen bases as well this season.

Why the Washington Nationals will win

Philadelphia Phillies Recap

The Philadelphia Phillies will try to win the series after coming out on top on Friday. A win here would give the Phillies back-to-back series wins after knocking off the Marlins to start the week.

Phillies Inching Closer To NL East Crown

Entering Friday’s action, Alec Bohm leads the Phillies with 137 hits including 43 doubles, a .297 batting average and a team-high 84 RBIs while Bryce Harper has 26 home runs with 73 RBIs and Bryson Stott has a team-high 24 stolen bases. Kyle Schwarber has 28 home runs, 73 RBIs and a team-high 141 strikeouts as well this season. Johan Rojas also has 19 stolen bases as well this season.

Why the Philadelphia Phillies will win

Philadelphia Phillies vs Washington Nationals Prediction

I’m on the Phillies here. I will say it was slightly disappointing that the Phils didn’t do more damage against Patrick Corbin on Friday, but I still think the Phillies are the far better option here. They’ve batted around MacKenzie Gore often this season, and have been deadly against left-handed pitching in recent games. Washington can maybe get a couple of runs here themselves, but in the end, I think the Phillies push for the sweep on Sunday. Give me Philadelphia here.
