NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Odds & Predictions: Jayden Daniels makes instant impact

PICKWISE

With the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs set for a Thursday Night Football kickoff on September 5, the 2024 NFL regular season is less than a month away, Yes, fewer than 4 weeks from now we will have meaningful football gracing the gridiron.

Speaking of the Chiefs, they have a highly touted rookie wide receiver on their hands in the form of Xavier Worthy. He is 1 of 4 players at his position in the top 9 of the current Offensive Rookie of the Year favorites. Quarterbacks, of course, occupy the very top spots according to the oddsmakers.

Who will be the NFL OROY in 2024? Let’s take a look at the odds and best bets to make.

2024 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds

Unsurprisingly, quarterbacks went #1, #2 and #3 in the 2024 NFL Draft. The top of that trio – Caleb Williams of the Chicago Bears and Jayden Daniels of the Washington Redskins – are among the Offensive Rookie of the Year favorites. Drake Maye, the #3 selection of the New England Patriots, is also in the mix.

Here are the odds:

Caleb Williams +140
Jayden Daniels +700
Marvin Harrison Jr. +700
Malik Nabers +1400
Bo Nix +2000
J.J. McCarthy +2000
Drake Maye +2500
Xavier Worthy +2500
Keon Coleman +2500
Ladd McConkey +3500
Ricky Pearsall +4000
Brock Bowers +4000
Rome Odunze +4000
Brian Thomas Jr. +4000

NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year best bet: Jayden Daniels, QB, Washington Commanders (+700 at FanDuel Sportsbook)

It is true that Williams finds himself in a pretty good situation as the undisputed starting quarterback for the Bears, but there isn’t any value on him as a short +140 favorite. Instead, Daniels at +700 is a much better play. The former LSU standout was incredible last year on the college gridiron and won the Heisman Trophy for his efforts. He will do doubt be starting from Day 1 in Washington, where Marcus Mariota is second on the depth chart. Terry McLaurin as WR1 and Zach Ertz at tight end will help the rookie’s efforts. Fellow rookie Luke McCaffrey is also looking good at receiver so far during the preseason. Expect a big first year for Daniels – maybe really big.

NFL MVP longshot: Xavier Worthy, WR, Kansas City Chiefs (+2500 at DraftKings Sportsbook)

The Buffalo Bills better hope for their sake that this longshot bet doesn’t cash. If it does, they will know they made a costly draft-day trade with the Chiefs. Buffalo traded out of the first round and selected WR Keon Coleman. They swapped with Kansas City, which moved into the first round and snagged Worthy. Needless to say, this is a dream situation for the speedster out of Texas. He gets to play with Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and the rest of the Super Bowl champions. Worthy could go crazy in this offense.
