The New Orleans Pelicans and Portland Trail Blazers meet Tuesday in NBA action at the Moda Center. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Pelicans vs Trail Blazers prediction.

New Orleans Pelicans

The New Orleans Pelicans have been in rough shape as they’ve lost five of their last seven games overall, but they will be looking to get something going after taking down the in-form Suns in a 113-105 road win on Sunday. CJ McCollum led the team with 31 points and five assists on 12 of 22 shooting, Zion Williamson added 29 points with 10 rebounds and seven assists while Jose Alverado chipped in with 15 points off the bench. As a team, the Pelicans shot 47 percent from the field and 16 of 39 from the 3-point line as they scored just 19 points in the first quarter to fall into an early 13-point hole, but they flipped the script with 37 points in the second quarter and dominated the rest of the way to come away with the much-needed comeback road win.

Portland Trail Blazers

Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers have been in terrible shape as they’ve lost 11 of their last 13 games overall and they will be hoping for a better performance after getting thrashed by the Celtics in a 124-107 road defeat on Sunday. Dalano Banton led the team with 28 points and nine assists off the bench, Deandre Ayton added 22 points with 14 rebounds while Jabari Walker chipped in with 14 points and 18 rebounds. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot just 39 percent from the field and 14 of 38 from the 3-point line as they showed plenty of fight to hang with the Celtics for three tight quarters, only to get blown out in the fourth quarter where they managed just 22 points.

Pelicans vs Trail Blazers prediction

The Pelicans are still shorthanded with Brandon Ingram and Naji Marshall still out, while the Trail Blazers are still without Jerami Grant, Anfernee Simons and Matisse Thybulle to name a few. The Pelicans have been playing well below their best lately, but they need a win to get back on track. I think they found an ideal opponent in the banged up Trail Blazers, who have little to play for at this stage of the season. The line seems too hefty, but I’d rather go with the Pelicans, who looked great in Sunday’s solid win over the Suns.
